April Product of the Month - Modern Oats

I have noticed a tendency for coffee shops to become more Café like by offering more food items. We here at FindMeCoffee have been getting more requests to start advising our followers where they can get a meal with their coffee. Breakfast to go seems to be the most common request.  As you know I often add my personal perspective based on my lifestyle and tastes. With that in mind when I’m on the go I tend to try to eat like I do at home.  I found that Modern Oats would be something that I would and typically eat at home.
 
Quality of Product
 
This is where it shines. The oats are themselves large full oats that absorb the hot water and plump up perfectly giving a wonderful texture of eating something substantial. All the ingredients are fresh and of obvious high quality. The preparation directions are clear and accurate and I found that if you add a splash of cream it’s perfect. I ate it at 8 o’clock before I left for work with an apple and a coffee and I wasn’t hungry until lunch time. So kudo’s to them for the right portion size. One of our testers is a hockey player and had one in his bag for the day. He loved how it filled him up and provided a nice even energy boost without a sugary crash that often comes with prepared foods.
 
If I were to offer a suggestion and this comes from one of our other testers there is possibly more sugar than necessary in the package. The tester felt that the sugar had settled to the bottom of the container and the last spoonful was a bit sweet.
 
Packaging
 
I love the packaging. As you know we hate waste here FMC. We loved the materials that this product is made from at it gets a high recycle score from us. I really liked how the container is used to both prepare and consume the product.  We loved the convenience. My wife loved how easy it was for her to take to work and add some hot water for a nice hot lunch.
The directions are clear and the labels represent exactly what’s in the package. There’s room for a little milk on top and you don’t have to worry about over filling. The package itself is made from higher than average quality materials that you can tell are designed to keep the product fresh.
 
Overall
 
This is a product that we will be keeping in the house.  I wish that I could buy this in bulk so I didn’t need to have a container for each serving. We’d change from our regular oats in a heartbeat.
