October 16th is World Food Day. It's the day where we take a moment to consider that we are very lucky to have all that we do. We have a stable government that understands the value of creating wealth instead of exploiting cheap labour. We as a society understand that wealth is not only about money, it's about being able to drink clean water, eat fresh food, walk safe streets, send our children to good schools and take ourselves to good doctors. Unfortunately we don't represent the majority of people in the world. Fresh food is a luxury in many parts of the world even here in North America.
I have a challenge. Skip one meal today. Know what it's like to be hungry for a few hours. Then image what it would be like to have that hungry feeling every day. Take a moment and stop at your local food bank and make a small donation of food or money. If you want to know what else you can do to support world food day follow this link
